During summer time there is a ferry connection (free of charge) every half an hour from Oulunsalo to Hailuoto and it lasts about half an hour. During winter there is also ferry connection, but not so often. Distance from Oulu to the ferry harbour is about 25 km and distance from Oulu airport to the ferry harbour about 20 km. You can reach Hailuoto also by bus from Oulu. During summer you can also arrive by your own boat. There is a guest harbor in Marjaniemi and it's maintained by the municipality of Hailuoto.
